Christmas has come and gone and the New Year has been ushered in with suitable fanfare, associated headaches and New Year’s resolutions. Joined the gym yet? Given up smoking? Why not do something more attainable (and enjoyable) and come see me for a lesson! Make the New Year a time to improve your golf and your enjoyment of the wonderful game.
Not much happening on the tournament scene at the moment. Even golf pros get a week off to enjoy their Christmas turkey, although on the European Tour, Christmas week is all they get. Poor things – it’s a hard life when you can only earn a million or two before March! The American’s are a little more spoilt; they don’t start till the fourth of January. Hardly seems fair does it?
The big questions are, how much better can Tiger get and will Annika rediscover her ’05 form? It’s difficult to imagine Tiger getting better (but he can!) and hard to imagine Annika not dominating once more. Going to be an interesting year ahead and I’m looking forward to it. Speaking of Annika (had to get it in somewhere!) I had the great privilege to interview her for ESPN a couple of weeks ago at Mission Hills in Shengzen, China. Life is tough at the top folks! Two days of wandering around the biggest golf complex the world has to offer. Impressive is an adjective that doesn’t do it justice, but will suffice. Annika was pretty cool too. Keep watching Golf Focus and ESPN, it’s probably going to air February or March of the New Year.
Cheers everyone. Stay well and hit it straight(ish). Lee
